My first visit to TOPS was years ago, and like many Cebuanos, it left a lasting impression. The cool mountain air, the long winding drive up the hills, and that wide, sweeping view of the city made it feel like a quiet escape from the everyday hustle. It was one of those places you promise yourself to return to, even if life somehow gets in the way.
So when I finally had the chance to revisit TOPS, now with its newly redeveloped and reimagined look, I was genuinely excited. I only had one memory to compare it with, but that made the experience even more interesting. It felt like rediscovering a familiar place through a fresh lens. I was so excited.

A New Look That Feels Thoughtful
Right away, the changes were noticeable. The entire area feels more open, polished, and intentionally designed. The road leading up to the main entrance looked prettier. Also, the spaces looked more organized, and the overall layout was more welcoming. It no longer feels like just a simple viewing deck. Instead, it now feels like a proper mountain-top destination.

Despite the upgrades, the focus remains on the view. The skyline of Cebu still stretches endlessly before you, and that alone makes the trip worthwhile. The new structures frame the scenery beautifully, encouraging visitors to pause, take photos, and simply enjoy the moment.

The View That Never Gets Old
Standing there once again, I was reminded why TOPS has always been special for a lot of Cebuanos. Watching the city from above brings a quiet sense of perspective. Buildings shrink, traffic fades into the distance, and everything just feels calmer.

Sunset slowly transforms the scene, painting the sky with warm tones before giving way to a sea of city lights. Even if you have seen it only once before, that view still manages to surprise and move you. It is a gentle reminder of how beautiful Cebu can be, especially when seen from a distance.
More Than Just a Quick Stop
One of the biggest improvements is how TOPS now encourages visitors to stay longer. With better landscaped areas and dining options, it feels like a place where you can comfortably spend hours, whether with friends, family, or simply on your own.
It is no longer just a quick stop for photos. It is now a space for slow afternoons, relaxed conversations, and quiet moments of reflection, all while overlooking the city.

In fact, one great new feature is the SKAI 360, a roof deck amenity that truly elevates the TOPS experience. For a minimal fee, guests can reach the top deck of the structure which offers a 360-degree view of the whole Metro Cebu. It’s an amazing sight, I must add.

A Welcome Return to Tops
Revisiting TOPS after all these years felt both nostalgic and refreshing. The redevelopment has given it a new identity while keeping the essence of what made it special.

And for someone who had only been there once before, this return felt like meeting an old acquaintance who has grown, matured, and found a new confidence. And this time, I know it will not take me as long to come back.

Wow–I had no idea this elaborate building was there! I was under the impression that it was just some food courts and tables. What a nice destination! Thanks for sharing.
