When I got an invitation to tour the Lapu-Lapu Cebu International College campus in Mactan, I admit that I didn’t get too excited. I thought that it was just going to be like any regular college that wanted to promote its courses. I honestly did not even know much about the school or the campus. And when I found out on Google Maps where it was located exactly, I didn’t give it any more thought.
On the day of the event, however, what I found was a campus that feels intentionally designed, modern, and surprisingly world-class in scale and facilities. And, to be honest, I was blown away.
Lapu-Lapu Cebu International College Campus
The campus sits in Barangay Bankal, right at the heart of the island. And as soon as you enter the gates, you immediately get the “planned campus district” feel rather than a typical school setup.

The complex has five main structures that house the different core functions of the institution. You will find the classrooms, library, language center, dormitories, offices, auditorium, and other academic and support facilities.

If you look at the layout, you will see that everything is organized and built with purpose. And based on my understanding, the structures are not just placed side by side, but arranged in a way that supports movement, accessibility, and campus flow.

Exploring the Campus
One of the most noticeable things during the tour was how complete the facilities are. Students, both local and international, have access to a lot of green and open spaces as well as lifestyle and recreational facilities. Students also get to enjoy state-of-the-art classrooms and academic spaces, including a library and a language center designed for focused learning. They also have a gorgeous auditorium for events and large gatherings.

In-Campus Dormitory
Best of all, they have private living quarters and dormitories for both students and staff. The dormitory setup especially stands out, not just because of how lovely they look, but also because of the added amenities such as a jacuzzi, sauna, and even an outdoor pool. It is not something you usually associate with campus living, especially here in Cebu. So, that’s exactly why my jaw was on the floor the whole time we were exploring the campus.

As we walked around, we saw the openness of the space. It’s pretty obvious that the focus was on livability, not just functionality. You can see that the walkways, landscaped areas, and open courtyards are wide and even massive. And this gives the campus a breathable feel despite the scale of the buildings.

I can only imagine how happy the students at this school are. They probably enjoy attending classes, as well as resting outdoors, or gathering in shared spaces without feeling cramped. They really are lucky.

Visiting Lapulapu-Cebu International College Inc. for the first time through this guided tour was a good reminder that there are still places in Cebu that can surprise you.

The campus feels modern in scale, planning, and the experience it creates for students (and even visitors). With its mix of various spaces, residential facilities, and recreational amenities, it stands out as one of the more unique educational environments I have seen in the province and probably in the region.

How about you? What do you think about this campus in Lapu-Lapu City?
