Hello, everyone! I’m finally back with Cebu Updates 36. I know this series has been away for quite a while so I made sure that you’ll enjoy this one. This has around 40 different updates that will surely help you see just how fast things are changing right here in Cebu. Are you ready? Let’s begin!
This is what the 2023 Cebu City Christmas Tree looks like. I know the tree doesn’t look too exciting in the photo, but trust me, the tree looks gorgeous at night!
The 128 Nivel Hills behind the Marco Polo Hotel in Lahug is now almost complete.
The construction of a new wing of SM City Cebu is now in full swing.
Across the street, Grand Tower Cebu is now almost ready!
Here is a view of the Baseline – Citadines cluster near Fuente Osmena. Who would’ve thought we’d have these beautiful highrises in midtown Cebu City?
The mixed-use Patria de Cebu is rising. In fact, I believe that the project is moving at such an incredible pace.
All towers of Robinsons Galleria Residences are nearing completion.
The Penshoppe Sinulog shrine for Senor Santo Nino is nowhere to be found this year. Hopefully, they’ll still decide to build one elsewhere.

Osmena Boulevard has been quite a mess the past few months due to the BRT project. Fortunately, the situation has improved a bit. Here’s what the project looks like now.
Barangay Guadalupe recently welcomed Casa Mira, another multi-tower condominium development in the area.
Cebu Doctors Hospital has recently completed the extension of its original building.
Work on Calle 104 is now ongoing. The development will house the Ranudo Tower. Additionally, the Ramos Tower will also rise on this spot.
USJ-R’s Quadricentennial Campus is now rising along Colon Street.
The old MCWD building has been turned into a Cebu City Hall Satellite Office.
The Excelsior Tower in Banawa is almost done. It will soon house a branch of Bantayan Island‘s super-popular Kermit’s Cafe and Pastry
Astra Center along AS Fortuna Street is expected to be one of Cebu’s newest lifestyle destinations.
Honestly, I don’t know what these buildings are. However, if you need a clue, they are somewhere in the Banilad area.
The Oakridge Business Park is extending towards the main highway based on this exciting announcement. Or an easier way to get into the park, perhaps?
Goodbye J Centre Mall. The well-loved mall is now in the process of being transformed into SM City J Mall.
This housing project in Barangay Tipolo in Mandaue City is now nearing completion.
Suarez Residences along Gorordo Avenue is rising very fast.
Also, residents of the Suites at Gorordo will soon be able to move in.
Meanwhile, the Banilad High Street project right next to the Samantabhadra Institute is almost ready!
Cebu City’s well-loved skyscraper Crown Regency is finally getting some much-needed facelift.
On the other hand, the EMSU Building along OsmeƱa Boulevard still looks like this.
5 towers out of 21 have now risen in Mandaue City’s Mandani Bay.
Finally, the Liloan City Hall has now been topped off.
