Over the weekend, I drove all the way to Cordova to revisit a lovely little barangay called Bang-Bang. If you can remember, Bang-Bang was one of the worst-hit areas when a huge oil-spill plagued the Cebu Strait and the Mactan Channel a year ago. The spill was caused by the collision of passenger ship MV Thomas Aquinas and cargo vessel Sulpicio Express Siete approximately 1 kilometer off the coast of Talisay. The passenger ship (which was carrying 120,000 liters of bunker fuel) sank and left at least 55 people dead and around 65 missing.

By the way, let it be known that Cordova is one of my most favorite places in Cebu.
Lovely and peaceful. What more can you ask for?

I’m very pleased to say that my favorite Cordova is back in the game!
No more traces of the spill.
And looking lovelier than ever!
Doesn’t that look beautiful?
Ah, so peaceful and serene.
2013 Oil Spill
Now, the oil’s gone!
And I must add that sunsets in Cordova are just marvelous. Take a look!
I was taking a video when some friendly locals started playing the guitar. The cool air, the sunset, the amazing view of Cebu City, and the wonderful soothing sound. Everything was fantastic.
And hey! Satchmo tagged along!
He wanted some fresh air.
Satchmo says Hello!
