Karenderias are everywhere in Cebu. You can see them near schools, near government offices, near factories – everywhere! The success of karenderias or eateries, no matter how closely situated they are from each other, can be explained by three known Pinoy facts. (Note that this is based solely on my observation as a fan of karenderias.)
1. Pinoys don’t like to cook (unless it’s the fiesta, it’s a birthday party, or for picnics).
2. Eating out is a sport in the Philippines.
3. We want VARIETY.
So if you’re planning to start a business, make sure you get a karenderia. Are there 80 karenderias in your area already? Don’t fret about it! Pinoys want VARIETY, remember?
Today, we ate at APURADO′s CHICKEN HOUSE in Fuente. It’s the joint right beside the Chong Hua Medical Center. Nurses, doctors, students, call center agents, and literally people from all walks of life visit this karenderia because of variety, accessibility, and more importantly, affordability.
Fried Chicken, Two cups of rice, Pancit, and Kinilaw. Nyum!
Apurado serves lechon, too! Nice! All Cebu karenderias should!
Their most popular items though are their fried chicken. And yes, they’re really delicious.
Aside from the fried chicken and lechon, Apurado also sells other Pinoy favorites. That ginaling looks mighy fine!
