If there’s a certain Cebuano food that got REALLY noticed this year, it has got to be the Siomai of Tisa.
If I’m not mistaken, one of the very first siomai stalls in Tisa was that tiny little stall named “Walay Tugpahay.” The Siomai Sa Tisa quickly became a phenomenon and people from as far as Mandaue would flock to Tisa to enjoy this perfect late-night snack. Each siomai is sold at PhP6. It goes well with siopao (see picture,) batchoy, puso (hanging rice,) pancit canton, lumpia shanghai, and of course, a bottle of soda!
The world-famous steamed Siomai (and Siopao) of Barangay Tisa, Cebu City!
How many pieces of siomai can you finish in one sitting?
‘Way Tugpahay Siomai’ sold at only PhP 6 a piece
The siomai is served in small platters. Each platter comes with a toothpick (to pick the siomai with,) some kalamansi, and a serving of the iconic chilli sauce.
Have you tasted the Siomai sa Tisa? What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below!
