The Walk with Jesus 2025 daw procession was held on January 9th in Cebu City. As expected, despite the light rain, it was a very well-attended event. In fact, hundreds of thousands (if not millions), were present to take part in this religious event that remains one of the most captivating sights you’ll ever see in Cebu.
Walk with Jesus 2025
Despite the light rain which made getting out of bed almost impossible, I got up at around 2:30 to prepare to shoot the parade like I always did. This time, since the Fuente Osmena Flyover is no longer there, I decided to try my luck in the downtown area where I hoped I could find a good spot.
Luckily, I remembered that the SSS skywalk was still open. While I felt that I arrived quite early, the flyover was already stuffed with photographers and devotees when I got there. Despite the chaos, however, I’m still very thankful because I still managed to find a good view of the parade.
At around 3:30 am, Osmena Boulevard was still empty.

A few minutes past 4 am, devotees began to fill the sides of the road.

Several minutes later, the head of the parade arrived at our location. Heading the procession was a pack of patrol cars.

Next, we saw the men and women from the Basilica. This time, the people on the sides of the road had doubled.

Now, we can clearly see the massive ocean of people joining the procession.

Now, let me tell you. This didn’t last for just a few minutes. The flow just kept on going. It was amazing!

I’m not sure what the police estimates were, but this could easily be more than a million people!

The Arrival of the Nino
Several minutes later, the carozza carrying the image of Senor Santo Nino finally arrived.

Next to the carozza were uniformed personnel, nuns, priests, and Basilica personnel.

As the carozza drew closer, the road became more stuffed with people.

Several minutes later, the crowd continued to flow towards the Basilica. It was an ocean of lights. It was truly a lovely sight!

The Walk with Jesus 2025 was peaceful and smooth all thanks to the hardworking security officers, the organizers, and of course, the Cebuanos who kept the parade as solemn as possible.
Pit Senyor!
