Some members of SSC-Cebu went to Cansaga Bay today to see the currently u/c Cansaga Bay Bridge. The bridge, which is part of the Cebu North Coastal Road project, will connect Mandaue City and the town of Consolacion. It is said that once completed, the CNCR will cut travel time from the city to the northern part of Cebu in half. The project is also seen to significantly reduce traffic in Mandaue, Consolacion, and even Liloan to controllable levels.
By the way, sorry for the bad picture quality. I used my phone to take these photos. Anyways, here they are. Enjoy!

Safety First!
Small houses are starting to appear near the bridge.
This is part of the highway which leads straight to the bridge.
SSC-Cebu boys in action.
I heard that they will turn this area into a small park.
The bridge looks pretty nice from down here.
We wanted to take a closer look at the bridge so we followed this seawall right next to it.
This young boy said that he was ‘fishing’.
We’re almost there.
And there is the Cansaga Bay bridge. It’s almost complete.
A huge ship holding a construction machine can be found directly underneath the bridge.

A quick view of the other side (Consolacion) of the project.
Huge piers currently being finished.
The bridge will have two lanes on each side.

What a bright idea! This will lessen the road congestions. Way to go Cebu!
I’ve heard there’s an ongoing road construction right these areas but don’t have idea of how this is being done. WOW kanindot uy, mora pud diay SRP, gamit jud kaayo ni namo pauli sa Tuburan. Salamat kaayo Ley sa imong input.
What is dthe target date of completion.
kanus-a kaha mahuman ning project, for sure the real estate in Liloan to Compostela will be good…
re the target date of completion, it should be before GMA steps down on June 2010. ive heard that she wanted to make sure all projects be completed before a new President is sworn in this June.
We need infa like this! Good job!
This is one big road project that needs priority. After this, the crossing in front of the Lilo-an church will have to be looked into for this will be a choke point. The replica lighthouse might even be demolished. I hope it will just be relocated.
WOW! i guess i have every reason to go home lol hi lei! = )
nindot dyud ni once completed, and I hope the government will be vigilant sa mga squatters who are starting to move in. . . .
Mao gyud nay dakong problema.
Thank you for the update, Ley! Lacion is still home to me so I hope it is for the better. Each time I visit Cebu, it gets harder and harder to get to the city faster from Lacion so this might help the congestion puhon.
wow.. thanks for the update ley..
hapit na sya mahuman…
paspasan unta ni nila og trabaho and be done before the next election .if new political party is in power and do not like Cebu, like what dedma Marcos had done to Cebu during those years, then LKK nga proyectoha.
It is good to see infrastructure projects at the outskirts of the city. Hope it’s done soon and not left unfinished. =)
Leyland, thanks for the update. Like Day Delza, Lacion is home to me. When this project is done, it will be a lot faster to go to the city. I was aware about this project, but just did not realized it will be done soon. When I was home last summer(remember me and hubby had dinner with you)my family was telling me about this project, but it has not stareted yet. Wow, they really are fast worker. Good for Lacion and the rest of the northern provincial town. It make for a quick trip to the city.
I love this. Makes our travel time shorter.

We also build bridges but not for the Philippines…
Have a look at my site…

Napadayun ba ni or na stop?
complete na hapit, actually.
I’m very grateful about this development going to the north, at least it shorten our driving time from Pardo to Compostela.By way to SRP to this new route can make life easy for us, since we knew that rush ours can always has bad effect to that old corridor.
I’m satisfied and happy with this new development. But I hate this congresswoman who
said, let us vote for those with the president because of the,”Utang nga kabubut-on.”
Talking non-sense,you and I knows why.
Way to go Cebu! The north side of Cebu really needs this bridge, and now we have the bridge. It will lessen up the congestion in the north side area of Cebu. Good job government people of the Philippines, and good job to those people of the Philippines who paid the taxes. Cebu we did it!
officially opened yesterday by pres. arroyo!
thanks for your admirable efforts in taking these pictures…this bridge is one of the reasons why we opted to get a house in tayud, consolacion…i heard the news about its inauguration yesterday and i wanted to see it even in pictures, for now…again, thanks for sharing these very informative pictures!!! God bless…
thanks. ill try to get some photos of the completed bridge this weeked. 🙂
thanks for Posting the Pics Ley, as others here who commented we have also invested a lot in Callero think thats next to tayud so it will really help in the development in that area. Hope you’ll post more pics regarding the inagauration. Thanks again.
Congratulations to the National Government for this milestone project. Few projects have had fast-tracked construction like this one. Hopefully more projects will follow suit. Can’t wait to visit this.
