Last Friday, we went to the Celestial Garden in the Hills of Banawa for the Via Crusis. Together with thousands of other believers, we went to the Celestial Garden to pray, sacrifice, and repent.
Via Crucis or Way of the Cross is the depiction of the final hours of Jesus Christ. With prayers and penitence, Via Crusis is usually done during the Season of Lent (on Good Friday). During the Via Crusis, people pray the rosary through a series of 14 ‘stations’ or sculptures depicting the Passion of Jesus.
In Cebu, the most prominent areas for Via Crusis are the Celestial Garden in Banawa and the Durano Foundation in Danao City.

Im sure Ley, puno pod sa tao ang Durano Foundation sa Guinsay Danao City. The late Manong Amon Durano finance the Kalbaryo in Carmen thats between late 70’s early 80’s. And i’ve been to Danao Kalbaryo in Bgy, Tuburan once only. Nag station of the Cross pod me ysterday here in Marian Valley Canungra Qld. Mga kulit akong anak, dugay paba kuno mahuman.

Station 15… JESUS is so piss off about peoples greed, human suffering, uncaring nature of rich individual, killing of so many innocent lives… sometimes he wonders, “where is the love”?… humanrace has to change now, unless you wanna know what station 15 is?. where’s my easter egg. happy easter.
It’s good that we have this type of place for Lenten season in remembrance of the suffering of our Lord, Jesus Christ, who died for our sins. Glory to Him!

we used to frequent this place every holy week and the experience is indeed remarkable . . . naa lang ko na notice before kanang doul sa last station, daghan kaayo namaligya ug mga foods, ang uban barbecue……:)
Lenten season: it is indeed time for us to make amends with our lives, even if it is once in a year, and to ask for an in-depth forgiveness to our heavenly father and to Jesus Chrsit who saved and died for our sins and the wrongs we’ve done. . to cleanse our inner soul of that spiritual guilt that hovers your thoughts. .if you do it with reverence you will feel the power of spiritual cleansing-it’s amazing!!!!!!!

Your blog popped up again re Celestial Garden. I can’t seem to find a map going to the place from Cebu City. My dad is not familiar of the place either, pati Crocolandia.
Do you have a map or can you give directions how to get there? Maganda sana if we can get there and have pic of the Via Crucis since I’m a Viacrucis on my mom’s side hehe.

Celestial Garden is in Banawa. Just ask anyone in the area for directions. The place is very popular.
Crocolandia is in Talisay City. If you know where Villa Teresita Resort is, the zoo is nearby.

Oh! no. We did’nt go to Marian Valley last Friday instead i just watch to Siete Palabras live streaming from Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral.
