MCPB - Cebu Updates 31

Cebu Updates 31

Hello, everyone! After months of being stuck inside due to the pandemic, Cebu Updates 31 is finally here. Please do note that since I had to schedule my posts, you will notice that some of the photographs in this post were taken a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, I chose the photos that still remain relevant even though border controls and movement aren’t too tight anymore.

So, dear friends here is the thirty-first edition of Cebu Updates, one of My Cebu Photo Blog’s longest series. Hope you enjoy it!

SM Seaside City Cebu

The malls were badly-hit during the pandemic. Take a look at the restaurant lane at SM Seaside City Cebu’s Skypark.

Most (if not all) of the restaurants in the area remain closed to this day.

The Sky Park is open. However, since minors and senior citizens are not allowed inside malls, the park is usually very quiet.

Establishments that cater to young kids (like Bibo) are still closed.

The skating rink at SM Seaside City Cebu is also currently still closed.

The greens at the central park of SM Seaside City Cebu had been uncut since the first lockdown.

Ayala Center Cebu

In Ayala Center Cebu, a lot of non-essential shops are also still closed.

The usually very noisy and energetic playpen at Ayala Center Cebu is empty and quiet.

To be able to enter the food court, one must fill out the contact tracing form and must wear all the necessary safety gears.

Most restaurants in the new wing of Ayala Center Cebu are also still closed.

As expected, everyone’s favorite arcade, Time Zone, remains closed to this day.

With the cancellation of public jeeps, the PUV Terminal is also closed.

Update: V-Hires are now available at the terminal.

Mactan Updates

The highrises in Punta Engano in Mactan are taking shape.

A massive road-widening work is currently being done in Mactan.

The third Mactan Bridge (CCLEX) is expected to be completed this year.

More Cebu Updates

The 1Nito Tower is slowly growing behind Mandarin Plaza Hotel.

Since dine-in is currently very limited, SM City Cebu has set aside an area where shoppers can eat the food that they purchased inside the mall.

Since the North Bus Terminal is still currently closed, SM City Cebu’s parking lot now serves as the temporary terminal.

Taft East Gate’s first tower has been topped off. Work on the second tower should begin soon.

The SRP’s very iconic Isla dela Victoria is now taking shape.

The Suites at Gorordo is rising fast next to the other highrises in the area.

The site of the massive joint project (which includes the Seaside Arena) at the SRP is now quite busy.
