Cebu Updates 30

Before I begin, let me just say that I seriously couldn’t believe that we are now on the 30th edition of Cebu Updates. Like, wow! Who would’ve thought that I’d still be doing these things years ago I started it? And listen to this: MCPB is turning 14 years old at the end of this month. Can you believe it?

Anyway, I know that isn’t what you’re here for. So, let’s begin with the exciting developments, changes, and updates in the Queen City of the South! Ready? Let’s go!

Cebu Updates

The first tower of the Galleria Residences (behind Robinsons Galleria Cebu) has finally been topped off.

The other high-rises behind the mall are also growing quite fast. I am hoping that with the completion of these structures, foot traffic will improve at Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

Lifestyle Destinations

The massive lifestyle development Isla dela Victoria at the Kawit Point at the SRP is slowly taking shape.

My favorite Greenwich branch (F. Cabahug) in Mabolo was vacated during the lockdowns.

A new lifestyle destination has opened in Banilad. Called 88th Avenue, the development sits on the lot previously occupied by a Shell gasoline station right next to Crossroads.

Battle of the High-rises

38 Park Avenue, one of Cebu IT Park’s many high-rise developments, is nearing completion.

Another high rise structure at the Cebu IT Park (near the mall) is rising fast.

The massive Cebu Exchange tower is ready to be topped off.

The 1 Nito Tower along Archbishop Reyes Avenue looks very clean and massive.

Ever-Changing Cebu Business Park

Finally, after many years, Metro Ayala is finally reopening soon.

The towers at the Cebu Business Park are growing taller and taller through the years.

The Solinea towers at the Cebu Business Park are becoming more and more dense as the years go by.

Downtown Developments

CityMall along N. Bacalso Avenue is finally nearing (hopefull) completion.

ACT has topped off its second building just a few hundred meters away from their first one.

Although parks are now open (I think), the usually very busy Plaza Independencia remains very quiet to this day.

Finally, I can feel that the new Cebu City Medical Center building will be completed very soon!

A Busy City

This high-rise structure along Duterte Street in Banawa is slowly taking shape.

The Casa Mira towers in Guadalupe are rising above the ground.

The massive Grand Tower Cebu behind SM City Cebu has been topped off.

A little ray of light amidst these trying times. The 2020 Fuente Christmas Tree is now taking shape.

The under-construction Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) looks pretty iconic from this angle in Carbon Market.
