Brand New Larsian

After its temporary closure after the Sinulog celebrations this year, the new Larsian complex was finally officially reopened a few weeks ago. The provincial government ordered the closure of the famous barbecue joint for the planned  P7.1 million renovation.

The provincial government promised that all issues regarding the old Larsian will be addressed and the joint will be improved to cater to both local and foreign customers.

Well, was it a success? Let’s find out!

Ladies and gentlemen, the new Larsian!

Okay, before anything else, here are two photos of the old Larsian. This was how the main dining area looked like.

Near the gate is a cake shop. Cool!

The stalls are no longer made of wood and GI sheets. And they’re much cleaner now! They’ve also improved the wash areas and rest rooms.

This is how the main dining hall looks now. Bright and clean!

With some flat-screen TV sets! Wow!

High ceiling to ensure that customers do not smell like chorizo when they leave. Hehe.

The main grilling area is now located at the very center of the square.

Customers can actually approach the grilling area and see how their orders are being prepared.

The main grilling area is far from the dining tables. So, it is almost impossible for smoke to reach the customers.

 Once you find an empty table, you will be served a basket of puso. Yum!

You will also get a saucer with pepper and lemoncito.

You will also find vinegar and soy sauce.

Now, here’s how you prepare your sauce!

Step 1- Prepare lemoncito, pepper, vinegar, and soy sauce.

Step 2- Squeeze the lemoncito.

Step 3 – Add soy sauce.

Step 4 – Add vinegar.

Step 5 – [Optional] Crush the pepper to make your sauce spicy hot!

Mix and you’re ready to go!

Now, how do you keep your hands clean while eating at Larsian? Here’s Redgie’s step by step tutorial. Hahaha.

Step 1 – Ask for a small plastic bag. [In most cases, a bag comes with your plate]

Step 2 – Open the bag and insert your hand.

Step 3 – Grab the opening of the bag and pull down to make sure that your fingers touch the bottom of the bag.

Step 4 – Twist the opening of the bag until it is tight around your wrist.

Step 5 – Tuck the loose part in to keep the bag in place.

Step 6 – You’re ready to eat!!!

  1. Asa man ni dapit sa Fuente Osmena? Patuyuk ug wala’y ka parkingan. Do you think you could post international grocery store w/ completed address? Any store that carries black Angus rib eye steaks, Atlantic salmon’ Alaskan crab kings (legs), lobster’ and rainbow trout

  2. I have stayed in cebu city for 4 years but never got the chance to come and dine in larsian. I heard a lot about it and now it has undergone renovation,i will make sure that once ill visit cebu, im going to eat there. Cant wait to go back to the Phils. 😉

  5. Gusto lang ko mag-contribute sa Cebu, my old home. Niadto ko sa Larsian, last Jan. 18 (Sinulog visit), for barbecue. Dili lagi limpiyo. Lapok kaayo, ug walang sanitation. Kung gusto nato Cebu ma-world standard, siguro limpiyuhan ang Larsian weekly or every other week, and maybe dunay sanitation check from time to time.
