Carcar City: Cebu’s Shoe Capital

Carcar is a municipality-recently-turned-city-then-turned-back-to-municipality-and-again-back-to-city city about 60 kilometers from Cebu. During the Spanish era, Carcar was a very important trading district. This explains why its streets are filled with Spanish architecture. Aside from its amazing ancestral houses, Carcar is also known for various local favorites like the bucarillo ampao and chicharon. More importantly, Carcar is known as the Shoe Capital of Cebu. Check out why!
