During one of my recent trips down south, I found myself once again making a quick stop at Gakub Spring. It has somehow become a little personal tradition for me to at least take a peep whenever I’m in the area. There’s just something about this spot that makes me pause and breathe, even for just a few minutes.
Gakub Spring
Gakub Spring, with its clear water and gorgeous surroundings, always feels like a refreshing sight after hours on the road. It’s not grand or touristy, but that’s what I love about it. It has this raw beauty that reminds you of how life in the province stays simple, peaceful, and connected to nature.

What makes Gakub Spring special for me is how it breaks the monotony of a long trip. You know those moments when the ride feels endless and all you see are winding roads and trees? Then suddenly, this little pocket of sparkling water greets you. It’s like nature whispering, “Take a breather, you’re doing fine.”

Whenever I stop by, I rarely stay long. I don’t even ‘enter’ the property. Sometimes I just take a photo or two, watch the water for a while, and then move on. But those few minutes are always enough to recharge me. It’s a simple reminder that beauty doesn’t always have to be loud. Simply, it can just be quietly waiting by the roadside.

Over the years, I’ve realized that Gakub Spring has become part of my southbound routine. It’s not really planned, but it’s something I always look forward to. And honestly, I think that’s what makes it extra special. For me, it’s not just about the destination but also the little pauses that make the journey more meaningful.

If you ever find yourself traveling south, try to slow down a bit and give Gakub Spring in Dalaguete a glance. Trust me, those few minutes will be worth it.
Thank you for advising me of this destination, which I will check out. We are interested in establishing new boutique resorts throughout the Philippines
