Cansaga Bay Bridge

First of all, let me say hi and thanks to Mam Inday Myrna (who is currently in Cebu) for the gifts and to Irien for giving them to me. Salamat kaayo guys! 🙂 Hehehe. I’m sorry you weren’t able to watch the live performance of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center inmates. I’m not sure why their performance was canceled. But I have a feeling that they still performed live for ASEAN leaders who are in the city for a mini ASEAN meet.

Anyways, we were also set to watch the live performance today. However, the guards informed us that the show was canceled. So, we went instead to Mandaue City to check out the recently-completed Cansaga Bay Bridge. The bridge is an integral part of the very ambitious North Coastal Road Project. The project aims to decongest the North National Road, and, hopefully, attract more investors to the northern part of the island. The bridge was recently opened by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo herself.

The Cansaga Bay Bridge

Two lanes, Two-way

The bridge looks really nice.

View from the side.

Lamp posts

I think they’re going to make a small park under the bridge.

The other side.

Huge space. This would be perfect for small food stands.

Super Shuttle Ferry

Mangroves

Banca

Cute little outhouse! Haha.

Fisherman and his wife (okay, I’m not really sure. Hahaha)

Heavy machine.

Two boys playing under the bridge.

  1. on my opinion.. the bridge defeats its purpose.. an option of reclaiming itshould be done instead.. water level there is not too high..

hope the LGUs (Mandaue and Consolacion) will regulate rules on the area. the space maybe settled by squatters sometime soon.

    sayangan lang ko.

ley, naay kay photowinners ug other contest pag sinulog?

  2. It’s a beauty! If they want to get rid of squatters, the gov’t should consider a land just for the homeless. A park is a good idea. Thanks Ley.

  3. unta ila sad i-develop ang both sides sa bridge aron walay squatters nga magsugod og tokod og payag2x sa ilawom. 2nd the motion lang ko ni madame Ianne

  4. Hi! I’m currently a student from USC and I’m writing an article about the bay,. May I ask if I can use a few of your pics for my project? I really promise to credit the photos,. Thanks! =)
