I just got back from my awesome Christmas break and I must say that I’m now fully recharged. Hehehe. I am now VERY ready to go back to blogging. (And before I could do that, I had to approve and delete more than a hundred comments. LOL). To start, I think it’s only proper that we post a short recap of Cebu’s highs and lows in 2008.

The Crown Regency opened to the public the first Edge Coaster in the world!
Miss Sian Maynard was crowned Miss Cebu 2008.
Kan-Irag Nature Park in Ayala Heights Cebu opened to the public!

The Cebu City Zoo welcomed a new member – a tiger named Boggart.
The old Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center in Villagonzalo was successfully turned into the Cebu Provincial Museum.
Cebuana beauty Karla Paula Ginteroy Henry was crowned Miss Earth 2008.
The Plaza Sugbu was opened to the public on July 24, 2008.
Ayala Center Cebu opened to the public it’s answer to SM City Cebu’s Northwing – The Terraces.
The Cebu City Police Office got a 100% rating during the Annual General Inspection (AGI) for its ‘Immediate Action Drill’ or IAD.
The municipality of Argao turned 400 years old!
The Sinulog participants were drenched during a wet Sinulog Festival.
20 year old David Chai Tangalin was crowned the first ever Mister Cebu.
The Walk was opened in Asiatown IT Park in Lahug.
Frank hit Cebu without warning!
The Cebu City government closed a huge huge deal with Robinson’s.
A new mall – Parkmall – opened at the North Reclamation Area.
The 2008 Kadaugan sa Mactan drew a huge crowd because of the participation of Manny Pacquiao, Jinky Pacquiao, and Dennis Trillo.
The Cebu City Hall was renovated and given a much-needed facelift.
Tribu Lumad Basakanon was once again named the best contingent during the Sinulog Festival.

Satchmo flew with Mr and Mrs Mccann to Springfield April 5th to start his world tour.
Cebu’s current highest skyscraper was completed and opened to the public.
Tribu Lumad Basakanon of Team Sinulog became the grandslam champion of the Aliwan Festival in Manila.
