A Day For Children: Bisdak Central Goes to Missionaries of Charity

Last Saturday, we went to Suba, in Barangay Pasil for Bisdak Central’s small feeding and gift-giving program. Bisdak Central, an online site for Cebuanos and Visayans, was created by my high school classmate, Vince aka bytebandit. For the group’s first outreach project, we chose the Missionaries of Charity in Pasil. Missionaries of Charity is a small orphanage which houses sick children who were either abandoned or were personally taken there by their parents.

When we arrived at the orphanage, we were met by the kids who happily sang ‘Happy Welcome to You’. They looked really excited as they helped us bring our stuff inside. The kids were very adorable. They were very courteous and friendly and most of them opened up easily.

After the prayer, the BC members were asked to pick a kid to interview. After a few minutes, the BC members each then talked about the kids that they picked.

It was a really wonderful and touching experience. I’m glad that despite the numerous delays, we were able to finally do it last Saturday. Good job, everyone! Let’s do this again soon!
