After building a spankin’ new Civic Center and a kick-ass Jeepney Terminal, Danao City welcomed a new baby. Ladies and gentlemen, Danao City has a brand new Fish Port. Hehehe.
The new Fish Port, which is called Macapagal-Durano Fish Port in located right in front of the plaza. The new fishport is really nice and clean. Also, it has ample park space for those who wish to drop by to use the clean rest rooms. By the way, remember the tinap-anan restaurants on the beach before you reach the Danao Church? Well, all restaurants have been transferred to the second floor of the new building. Isn’t that amazing? Hehehe.
Here’s what the second floor of the building looks like. Cool, huh? 😀

Visit Danao City now!
I’ve tried eating in the fish port hehe… the food and price is okey. This is Danao’s version of Larsian.
And oh, Ley, those wash faucets? Only one of those will work 🙂
oh yeah. i noticed. hahaha
wow, seems like an new area
Finally its finish now, my neice and sister never mention it to me. I surely visit there for a bite (puso @ tinap-anan). I want to visit Camotes but scared of that pumpboat ride especially on big waves. Well done Danao.
Wow, it’s a beauty! Tourists will love to go there. Thump’s up to Duranao City! 🙂
My BIL, who is “old Family” Danawanon thought the new” Fish Port” is a money grab. Of course, things must progress, but the Fisherfolk didn’t have to pay rent at their old place.
Ooops, I mean thumbs up to Duranao City! 🙂
Good one LEY…
Nice fotos Ley, as usual. 🙂
I was in Danao last trip there, a little over a year ago and was really impressed. I really liked the city. Seemed very homey and intimate. Very friendly people. Who knows? Maybe I’ll be living there when I retire. Unfortunately I forgot how long it took to get there. I need it not to be too far away from Bo’s Coffee Club at Ayala. 😀
I had already decided to revisit Danao on my next trip. Now I’ll definitely check out the Macapagal-Durano fish port.
Thanks for all the updates. 🙂
Ley,
You did not show the food.

LAIN NJU ANG TAGA DANAO MGA BAI OI
Building the Fish Port and the Plaza on reclaimed land has destroyed the charm of of the historical part of Danao. I recently visited Danao and was shocked at the deplorable transformation. I did not care for the food in the little eateries up on top of the Fish Port. While viewing the new construction along the water front I found that there was a great disconnect between the Fish Port and the Plaza next to it… Who ever designed these two venues right next next to each other needed to somehow integrate them seamlessly. I hated to see the once lovely coastline broken up with these new constructions. Surely the powers that be could have found another location to build the Fish Port. If they wanted expand a public plaza then they should have extended it down the entire length of the sea wall. That would have provided a lovely venue for the residents of Danao… as it is… it just doesn’t work well. I also don’t like how they are chopping up the coast line and creating little shanty beach resorts… most of which are just beach bars for the masses. The beaches and coastal areas should be public lands open to all… they way it used to be in year gone by. Any private development should be on the west side of the Highway… or at least create public coastal parks and leave right of way between nicely developed beach resorts giving all access to the beach and leaving the coastal areas as much as possible pristine and uncluttered. What’s done… is done…. I guess their is no turning back. I found the beaches and waters of Danao to be polluted… not at all the way they used to be. It the coastline it to be developed then it need to be developed properly with sound infrastructure and design. I found the same thing happening in other areas of the Philippines. For me uncontrolled and unregulated development is a sad state of affairs.
I visit this place last January having dinner and chat w/ relatives.
That pumpboat has been replace by RoRo now.
