The entire family decided to go to Cantipla in the highlands of Cebu today to buy some sweet corn and some fresh veggies for supper. While we were preparing for the trip, however, my cousin Lester aka Istong started talking about a mountain resort that he recently visited. I told him that I knew he was talking about Island In the Sky. When he told me that it wasn’t Island In The Sky, I got interested. I didn’t know there was another mountain resort in Balamban. But what really sealed the deal was this one tiny detail that Istong added. The resort has a swimming pool! Island In the Sky also has a pool, true. But it wasn’t working when we went there. And besides, Istong promised that we would totally love the place. Well, that remains to be seen, Tong! Let’s see if you can please us! (But seriously, we’re very EASY to please. Hahaha)

Swimming pool surrounded by trees! Huwaw!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love it!

GL Highland Resort is located in Baranggay Gaas, Balamban, Cebu. It’s around 32 KM from the city. Look for this sign!

Also, look for this small structure along the Transcentral Highway. It’s hard to miss!

Fees! Don’t mind the spelling. LOL.

A group of bigbikers! Very nice bikes!

To the cottages.

Ayaw kalimot sa imong bayad! Hehehe.

That nice little cottage on top is for rent. I think this one is 1k per night.

To the Swimming Pool! Can’t wait!

Oooh! It’s starting to feel really cold!

Gorgeous view!

Down, down, down. Hahaha.

Just keep walking!

Wew! Layo pa ta?

An open cottage with tents in front.

Istong and Osman.

Wow! Awesome sight!

Uh-oh! Where are they?

Wow! Is that the pool?!?! Wow!

At last! We’re here!

Fresh water! Very very very cold!

Can Osman handle it? Let’s see. Hahahaha.

O! Ayawg kurog Osman! Hahahaha.

More visitors coming!

Ligo2x bisag gakurog! Hahahaha. Very nice!

Water flowing straight to the river below.

To the restroom!

Clean CR and shower room.

After a couple of hours of swimming in freezing-cold water, it was time to leave.

Slowly but surely lang. Kay kapoy tungas. Hahaha.

Spider webs. Nice.

The gorgeous gorgeous view. Click for details.
Going up, up, up!

A short break from the climb. Some wacky shots.

The grotto near the parking lot.

Feeling tourista sa Baguio! Hahahaha.

Reminds me of our side trip along the Transcentral Highway a couple years ago. On the right hand side of the highway as your traveling from Busay to Cantipla is Bella’s Vegetable Stand. Great veggies! Much better than in the stores. And so fresh. Pick some up and go home and make sabaw. Um, lami kaayo. I urge everybody to go see Bella and the other vendors alongside her. Really nice people.
Yes, I do remember it was much cooler up there.
