Hello, everyone! It’s great to be back! As the year is finally about to come to an end, allow me to share with you Cebu Updates 38. This is now the 38th edition and I can’t believe that after all these years we are still doing this. Hehe.

Anyway, here are a few things that you might find interesting especially if you haven’t been back in Cebu for quite a while. Additionally, Cebu Updates 38 will show how far Cebu has come in terms of developments and progress and I couldn’t be prouder. Ready? Let’s go!

The Maple Leaf Center in Banawa is now ready for occupants. This complex is a great addition to the continually growing list of lifestyle brands in Banawa and Barangay Guadalupe.

Next, there’s a new McDonald’s branch in Cebu. This one is located along the SRP access road in Mambaling.

The iconic BDO Tower in Fuente Osmena is now towering over the circle. In fact, if my estimates are right, this tower will be completed early next year.

Also, the City Clou complex is one of Cebu City’s most massive developments with multiple high-rise towers.

The Masters Tower is the latest addition to Cebu Business Park’s growing number of highrise buildings. In addition, the Masters Tower will soon house Sofitel Cebu.

The Suarez Residences along Gorordo Avenue is now almost complete.

The Red Hotel along Escario Street (across McDonald’s) is changing the face of this area. Here’s hoping that more highrises will soon grow in the Capitol area.

The Mahi complex by Apple One is almost complete. This exciting development is located in Lapu-Lapu City right next to the Mactan Marina Mall.

Ayala Center Cebu is doing a major makeover this year. As a matter of fact, one of the many changes is the demolition of this ‘garden row’ to make way for the mall’s expansion.

Industry giant DMCI Homes is now in Cebu. In fact, they recently officially launched their project in Banawa called Kalea Heights.

Another growing lifestyle destination in Cebu is the Astra Centre in Mandaue City. This project will have residential, office, and retail components.

Additionally, the 3rd tower of Urban Deca Homes in Mandaue City is now nearing completion.

The BRT Project is ongoing with the sidewalks now also being renovated.

The Fuente segment of the BRT sidewalks now looks pretty nice.

This Urgello section also shows a more organized and cleaner sidewalk.

Here is a view of the Abellana/City Central School segment of the BRT sidewalk.

The Patria de Cebu redevelopment is helping change the face of downtown Cebu City. Moreover, this building is one of the area’s first highrise structures in a long time.

Finally, the Link to Port component of the BRT project in downtown Cebu City aims to “revitalize the area through Pedestrianization”.
