After several months, Cebu Updates is finally back! I know it’s been a long wait so I made sure to gather several updates that you will surely enjoy. As usual, these updates are from different parts of Metro. Some of them are a few days old but some are also ultra-fresh. Anyway, I hope that you will enjoy this bunch. Let’s go!
Let’s start this post with an SM City Cebu update. Did you know that the open parking space at the back of SM City Cebu has now been fenced off for the expansion project?
Here’s what the site looks like during the day.
More and more tenants are now opening their stores at The Mall at NuStar Resort and Casino at the South Road Properties. More high-end brands may open before the year ends.
The ARC Towers along V. Rama Avenue and N. Bacalso Avenue is now nearing completion. It’s always nice to see a new development in this area.
At the South Road Properties, the massive property across SM Seaside City Cebu is now busy with the construction of the SM Seaside Arena.
In Barangay Guadalupe, its first actual skyscraper is now taking shape within the Casa Mira complex.
This development along Archbishop Avenue (fronting BIR) is looking pretty nice. Can’t wait to see what this actually looks like in a few months.
At the North Reclamation Area, the massive Mandani Bay is shaping up to be one of Cebu’s most gorgeous districts.
Several blocks away, Robinsons Land Corporation recently fenced off the location of Mantawi Residences – an ultra-premier residential project with top units selling at around Php60M.
The towers of Galleria Residences behind Robinsons Galleria Cebu are now almost ready for occupancy. This should tremendously help improve foot traffic in Robinsons Galleria Cebu.
The Aduana building (Malacanan sa Sugbu) will soon become a National Museum.
At the NRA, a new structure is rising next to the CDU building can be seen. It is the university’s second building in the area.
The Masters Towers at the Cebu Business Park is now finally rising.
In Barangay Guadalupe, vendors at the old public market have moved several meters to the back. Additionally, it is said that the area is going to be turned into a restaurant.
The One Astra Place in Mandaue City (across Oakridge Business Park) looks massive as of June 2023.
A new highrise condominium development is rising on the spot where the Sungold showroom once stood.
The Grand Tower Cebu, behind SM City Cebu, is finally nearing completion.
The old playground in Pasil has been renovated and will be reopened in July.
The groundwork for the implementation of the Bus Rapid Transit Project is now in full swing.
Taking the place of the BDO tower in Fuente Osmena is a new structure.
The NICU (neonatal ICU) building at VSMMC is now nearing completion.
The scene-changing Patria de Cebu redevelopment in downtown Cebu is now in full swing.
Due to a conflict, the Puso Village behind Cebu City Hall is not yet open.
A new mall (Bay Mall) will soon rise on the lot previously occupied by the old Liloan Public Market.
Finally, the JCentre Mall in Mandaue City is no longer operational. It will soon become SM City Mandaue.
