Moalboal Town Plaza: A New Favorite

Moalboal has always been my most favorite places in Cebu. In fact, I’ve been to Moalboal a gazillion times (whether on purpose or by chance.) Strangely, I never really figured out whether or not the town has a plaza. All I know is that there is a big open space in front of the town church and I just thought that this actually was the plaza. Fortunately, during one of my Southern Cebu trips recently, I decided to check out the town market to look for a nice little carenderia. And that was when I discovered that Moalboal, actually has a town plaza. And it’s gorgeous!




Moalboal’s town plaza is not visible from the main highway. However, it is not very difficult to find, either. If you know where the town market is, it’s basically just right across the street!

As I explored the plaza, I realized that it was actually quite huge. And very well-maintained.

There’s lots of open space. And the kids are totally digging it! I think I’ve found myself a new favorite! 🙂

Right next to it is the Moalboal gym (if I’m not mistaken.) It’s a pretty cool set-up, actually! And I think this whole park is just behind the Municipal Hall, too! So everything is basically just a stone’s throw away.

And the best part is, the town plaza is literally right next to the ocean! How cool is that?

Imagine spending your late afternoons here! What a lovely thought.

Just chatting with your friends as you wait for sunset. That’s just lovely.

That right there with the big bus is a wharf and not the main highway. That’s also a night spot to chill especially if you also enjoy a bit of swimming.
