Foot Procession 2009

The threats of rain didn’t stop the people from leaving their homes and joining the annual Foot Procession of the Santo Niño de Cebu last Saturday, January 17, 2009.  Instead, a record number of devotees joined the parade to show the Holy Child their love and devotion.

Here are some of the photos that I took during the annual Foot Procession.

The organizers said that at least 1.2 million people joined this year’s foot procession.

Each year, devotees make it a point to dress up their Niños with new clothes and accessories on the day of his Fiesta. This Niño is wearing a red shirt and is carrying a small basket.
