The 2014 Sinulog Season Is Here!

Cebu City Mayor Mike Rama officially opened earlier tonight the Sinulog Season in Cebu. Cebu’s Sinulog Season starts with the Walk with Jesus Dawn Procession and ends with the closure of the Sinulog winning photos exhibit in February. The launching program began with a short parade followed by a choral competition and the 2014 Sinulog Idol. As usual, the event was held at the Fuente Osmeña circle in midtown Cebu. Beginning tonight, with the help of participating schools and universities, nightly cultural shows will be presented at the circle. Check out these photos of the event.

Viva Pit Senyor!

The opening program was hosted by the awesome Vince Escario.

Dancers from different contingents come together to dance to the Sinulog beat.

The reigning Sinulog Festival Queen. Beautiful.

The 2014 Fuente Christmas tree now looks a lot more upbeat.

Tables with umbrellas can now be seen inside the circle. Barbecue dinner right in the heart of Cebu? Why not?

Jones Avenue and its gigantic tenants.

Fuente Osmeña looking especially lovely tonight.

The Niño on a galleon. Nice concept.

On the opposite end is Penshoppe’s display.

Penshoppe has always been lavish with their yearly display. Their display this year, however, is much, much simpler. They don’t even have the glass-encased image.

Good thing, though, it doubles as a “photobooth.”

Pit Senyor, mga Sugbuanon!
