So, I just got home from the 6th annual Best Cebu Blog Awards. This year’s awards ceremony was held at the Avalon Tower at the Cebu Business Park. If you remember, I also attended the awards night in 2010 (where I won the TOP 1 Best Cebu Blogger Award.) The following year, I was also invited to give an inspirational talk as 2010’s top winner.
This year, I wasn’t expecting much. At the FB-liking stage of the selection process, I only got around 50 Likes. Other entries got more than 4000! Haha. That explains why I was seriously a bit shocked when I received an email invite. Maybe they’re just inviting all previous winners. Who knows?

During the announcement of the Top 10 Famous Bloggers (based on FB likes and page rank,) I was certain that I wouldn’t make it. In all honesty, the real reason why I decided to go was the raffle draw. They were giving out a Samsung S4! Hahaha. And I’m sure they’re giving away a couple of gift checks. Getting a 300-peso gift check would be more than enough. When they started to call the Top 5, I knew that I was right. That there was no way that my name would be called next.
But, Top 3!
But, you know, you guessed it right. They called my name! I was named the Top 3 Famous Blogger in Cebu. Awesome sauce!
Fresh from the excitement of getting a plaque and a couple of gift checks, I heard the host call my name once again. I had just won 900 pesos worth of Globe load. Haha. Wow!
Near the end of the program, they announced the niche winners. For this year, they decided to award the top blogger for each niche. MyCebuPhotoBlog is a travel blog. So when they gave the Best Travel Blog Award to Lak Bay Diva, I was not surprised. Lak Bay Diva is an excellent blogger and I know he deserved it. But a few moments later, they announced that the next award would be given to the Best Cebu Photo Blogger. And when they called my name, I was totally unprepared. It was such an exciting surprise. They gave me a nice-looking trophy and a paperbag filled with different gift checks! Basically, just a bunch of awesomeness in time for MCPB’s 7th year!
Here with Stephanie of the Traveler in Me. It’s nice to meet fellow bloggers for the first time and feel comfortable around them right away.
Overall, it was a really fun and exciting experience. It’s really awesome to get rewarded for doing something that you love. 🙂
