Escape

Things have been really crazy these past few days. So, instead of just staying in my room and thinking about all the problems, I got on my bike and just drove round town. Before sunset, I found myself driving towards the South Road Properties. I was on my way to Talisay when I saw some cars parked in front of those rows of benches facing the viaduct. I found out that vehicles are now allowed to park there and that people can stay there until a few hours after sunset. So, that was exactly what I did. I made a U-turn and parked my bike in front of one of the benches. I sat there quietly and just absorbed the sight in front of me. I didn’t think about my troubles. I didn’t think about uncertainty and fear and self-pity. I simply cleared my mind of worries. And I ‘escaped’.

  3. When my mama,my sister and i left Cebu for Australia 18 years ago to start a new life,Cebu was just a little girl. Now, she’s kinda like a beautiful teenager, who is full of confidence and not scared to take on the world. With the guidance of mayor Tommy and gov. Gwen, i hope that Cebu will become prosperous, happy and a safe place to live…and become a woman that people would admire and be proud of.

  10. Beautiful… That’s a nice view of the development site of Monterrazas de Cebu at the mountain tops (picture #2). In time this will be blocked when buildings start to sprout along SRP.
A few meters further towards Talisay City, you could have also taken shots of some chinese egrets and other migratory birds stopping by the watery portion of the SRP before proceeding to Olango Island.

  11. @ ROVYN

pls. do meet up w/ Ley on your upcoming visit to Cebu, Ley “d pagemaster” as we call him is such an awesome guy, i had the honor and opportunity of meeting him nov ’08 during our visit to cebu, i just wanted to put a face on such nice work for MCPB, met his mom as well….. by the way your in-laws will not regret visiting cebu!

  12. ley, w/ the global recession everyone is affected….. hang on there buddy…. did you send text my sis? i told her about the situation…. let me know of the outcome

  13. Thank you for continuing to take great shots, Ley. It is good to know that there is this place that people can just sit and relax-it is priceless. I hope people keep it clean and well-kept for years to enjoy! From my visits home, some still have the bad habit of just throwing things where they are. We all have to take responsibility even if we know someone has the job of keeping it clean.

    1. sige, hala celebrate gyud, sayang lechon wala ko diha … @rovyn, si Ley, very shy kaayo, dili siya mapahimuslanon nga pagka-tawo, dili lang kay ako ang nakigkita ni Ley, mostly sa iyang mga avid readers sa MCPB will really take the time to meet him while visiting Cebu…. sige von voyage!

  14. wow.. ka nice ba d i sa SRP oi.. wala pa jud ko ka anha doh.. ng plano unta me nga maganha.. last month pag uli namo.. pero wala jud na dayon…hehehe nice kaayo view…. nindot sad kaayo pag ka kuha nimo ley…. nice pics…

  15. Ley, i wish you had someone (a gf) w/u setting in the seawall, cuddling @ giggling together after the stroll in the red sidewalk in a fresh sea breeze. Lage Ley makalimutan jud nimo imong problema. Anyway, just lift up your hands to GOD and He will show you the way. Take it easy Mate, problem is a spice of life.

Despite of what you feel Ley, you still please ur MCPB friends with this new shots. Some of the pictures nice to be a postcard. How about postcard printing? Make a go Ley.

    Thanks anyway Mate…

  16. kanindot ba anig lugara uy….one of those simple pleasures in life. As for your green converese…luv it, luv it, luv it!

  17. if ur the hardest HIT don’t QUIT.

BUT if you can’t stand it anymore…
lingkod na lang gud nyahahaha LOL! joke
    put a smile… = )

we are always around lei, just a text away okay.

  18. Hahaha, bai parehas tag tripping. Ang ako lang kay ang Marcelo Fernan bridge. Ako lang labangon from Lapu-Lapu side (duol ra man sa bridge amo sa Pusok atbang Bellavista katong imoha sad nga vantage point for one of your shots) to Mandaue just to clear my head. It is so relaxing and refreshing to watch the city fade into the night, then there is that short time when dusk has fallen but all the lights are yet to switch on. I watch those little points of light go on few flickers at a time until the full night has started. Then, I go and move on with my life. Hehehe.

  19. I think it has something to do with being alone but not lonely. Something they call solitude. It is like enjoying the company of your own self. It is very recharging bai sa? In your solitude, you reassess your value and the value of the things in your life and put things in perspective. Or it doesn’t have to be as dramatic as all the crap I’m saying. But it does work!

That said, I’m sure you’ll be fine. This activity always ends up with me thinking how I am still one damned lucky bastard even if things get shitty sometimes. Hehehe.

  20. Take heart brother, and enjoy your talents, they are rocks in the shifting fortunes of this world.

    Love the Green Kicks Ley.

  21. good idea, the fresh sea breeze will clear your mind and give you new perspective of things. cg ko agi diri during my vacation pero wa gyud mi nakahunong to enjoy the view, hopefully on my next vacation. ang ako lang pangutana kay ngano ilang i-close ang SRP sa gabii, sayo pa gyud kaayo at 7pm man cguro to. dhong, safe ba ilingkod-lingkod didto sa mga benches? wa bay magbinuang? sulayan unya nako magpahangin didto.
