Cowboys In The City

 

Last Sunday, I went to the North Reclamation Area in Mandaue City, Cebu for the Governor’s Cup 2009. During the event, there were obstacle and oval races. A small fair was also set up to feature different products for horse owners and enthusiasts. I’m not exactly sure when the program started. But I was lucky enough to witness the main events (oval/obstacle races) last Sunday afternoon. Here are the photos that I took.

  1. it’s nice to see horse race come back and I am also glad. . . This was what Hipodromo (hippodrome) used to be (the place where I grew up too).

  3. wow, is this something new in Cebu…. nice job for gov. Garcia…. i wonder how much it costs to maintain this horses in Cebu, i noticed there are kalesa’s on the side street

    ley, are the kalesa’s still operating, ang ilang rota naa gani at the back of USC?

  4. Hee Haw!!! This is the first time I learned that we have cowboys & cowgirls in Cebu. 🙂 It’s a good idea to have an event like this.
